Today's Rule in Arkansas
Connecting: Entergy Arkansas applies the Arkansas PSC rules. The customer files a Preliminary Interconnection Site Review Request, provides a one-line diagram, and pays for any studies needed. The customer also signs a Standard Interconnection Agreement for Net-Metering Facilities 30 days ahead of the connection date. A standard one-time fee may be charged by utilities.
Act 278 of 2023 overhauled how net metering works. If you filed after September 30, 2024, you're non-legacy, and your credits come at the avoided cost rate, netted monthly. Until June 1, 2040, legacy customers who filed earlier keep the full retail credit. Residential systems get the lower of two caps: 25 kW, or 100% of your highest monthly usage.

Arkansas Facts Worth Knowing
- In 2024, the average Arkansas home paid 12.32 cents/kWh for power. Because rates are low, a kit takes longer to pay back than in states with high rates.
- Since October 2024, new solar customers receive credit only at the avoided cost rate for exported power. Using a plug-in kit's output in the home provides the greatest savings.
